ABOUT

Carl Weber’s fan favorite series, Kingpins, returns with a new voice, capturing all of the gritty drama of Baltimore street life.

Isaac Washington was born and raised on the gritty streets of Baltimore, Maryland. Being exposed to the streets, he becomes a product of his environment. He lives a ruthless life of crime; drugs, murder, and sex become his way of life. He is considered the man, and people in the streets fear him and his crew.

Faith intervenes when he meets the woman of his dreams and decides to change his life by becoming an attorney and living as a law-abiding citizen. He is also determined to be the best husband and family man he can possibly be. He spent years making a name for himself in the justice system, rising above the ranks to become a district attorney and then a judge. But he’ll soon learn that the past has a way of showing up when you least expect it to.

Old acquaintances meet his new friends, and his life will take a drastic turn, changing everything that he’s tried to accomplish. Isaac winds up playing a dangerous game; he’s caught in a love triangle between the woman who held his heart and the woman he’s married to. He can’t catch a break; thugs are trying to kill him, and friends become foes. He must figure out a way to stay alive and protect himself and his family. The million-dollar question is: will he crumble under pressure by becoming his past, or will he stay on the path to redemption?

STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS

Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.

In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.

The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.

Hardcover (HC)

  • Standard-sized hardcover books
  • Collect 6-12 issues typically
  • Similar dimensions to single issues, but with a hard cover
  • Priced around €25-€35

Trade Paperback (TP)
