ABOUT

An important collection of essays by twenty-six Native American writers that explores their unique lives, art, and the complex issues of identity, compiled by the editors of I Tell You Now: Autobiographical Essays by Native American Writers

The stunning essays in Here First demonstrate the breadth of experience of twenty-six individuals united in the creative expression of a Native American heritage. Each has a different relation to that heritage, and in describing it through personal and family history, with verse and in anecdotes, the writers give a strong image of the different cultures that have shaped them.
This is a vivid and diverse portrait of Native American culture, a living history and the kind of collective memoir that makes for fascinating and rewarding reading.

STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS

Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.

In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.

The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.

  • Usually 300-600 pages
  • Priced between €30-€50

Hardcover (HC)

  • Standard-sized hardcover books
  • Collect 6-12 issues typically
  • Similar dimensions to single issues, but with a hard cover

Trade Paperback (TP)

  • Softcover collections
