ABOUT
Peanuts and its creator, Charles M. Schulz are arguably the world's most famous newspaper comic strip and cartoonist in history. The Peanuts cartoon strip holds the distinction of being the world's longest continuing story, running for a staggering 17,897 strips from October 1950 to February 2000. Peanuts tells the story of meek, nervous Charlie Brown (a boy incapable of flying a kite, hitting a baseball or kicking a football), his dog - Snoopy and his group of childhood friends as they tackle the complexities of modern life: friendships, crushes, first loves, siblings and kicking a touchdown. This book is a facsimile edition of the second Peanuts collection originally published in 1954 by the Clarke, Irwin & Company, Ltd of Toronto, Canada. A second collection of 240 Peanuts strips, this time selected from 1952-1954 and introducing new characters like Linus and the beginnings of Charlie Brown's terrible baseball career.
STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS
Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.
In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.
The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.
