In stunning Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, Emma Brennan’s new spa, Aroma Wellness, is filled with the sweet smell of success. She’s even been invited to partner with the library for a special event. But amid the mantras and massages, Emma suddenly finds herself on the scent of a killer . . .

The Mindful Moments and Meaningful Words festival is a celebration of storytelling and self-care, including health tips from experts, a Love Yourself Raffle to support literacy programs, and appearances from local authors. Emma and her grandmother, Nana Lissa, are thrilled at the synchronization . . . until a real-life murder steals the scene.

The victims, an archer and her coach, are found entwined in a suggestive embrace at a local author’s home. Emma feels obligated to help solve the crime, but she’s puzzled about means as well as motive. Somehow, the killer was able to manifest a double murder and dispatch both victims without a struggle.

Clearly there’s more to this story than meets the eye. But it’ll take some help from Nana, as well as Emma’s loyal Birman cat, Vivi, to zoom in on the killer, discern fact from fiction—and restore everyone’s inner peace . . .
