ABOUT
Coco Rivera’s family is haunted by silence. Music is forbidden in her household, even on her fifteenth birthday, her quinceañera—though the world outside is alive with song.
On Día de Muertos, Day of the Dead, Coco takes a chance and sings a forbidden song. Awakening ancient magic, she is swept across the Marigold Bridge and into the Land of the Dead.
Here, Coco discovers her voice is more powerful than she ever imagined. Lost Souls, who are on the verge of being forgotten, are drawn to her. Her song helps them remember things they have forgotten, and for a time, brings them peace.
Accompanied by new friends, she is drawn into a perilous journey through mysterious canals and shadowy chinampas. There she encounters La Llorona, a haunted mother whose sorrow threatens to consume the world of the dead and the living alike.
To save the Lost Souls—and to find her father at long last—Coco must face impossible choices. She’ll learn that to truly remember is not to hold on too tightly, but to let love go where it’s needed most. Along the way, she will unlock forbidden stories, confront the wounds left by silence, and discover the courage to reconnect her family on both sides of the bridge.
STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS
Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.
In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.
The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.
