ABOUT
In Revolutionaries, Spain illustrates the lives of some of great historical figures who fought for revolution and independence, including Nestor Makhno, Bernardo Galvez, plus contemporary heroes and villains in the fight for democracy. He also recounts his role in the sexual revolution of the 1960s with autobiographical strips from the East Village Other, Hustler, and Sleazy Scandals of the Silver Screen, exercising the complete artistic freedom those periodicals afforded him. Plus graphic short stories of revolutionary Yiddish entertainers and activists in the Lower East Side that first appeared in Jewish Currents, in collaboration with Jewish scholar Joel Schechter. Spain Rodriguez absorbed revolutionary and military history throughout his life and showcased his eclectic knowledge in the stirring tales of freedom fighting that appear in this volume, from ancient historical times to 20th and 21st century political machinations. This volume collects stories from Arcade, Anarchy, Commies From Mars, Two-Fisted Tales, and Death Rattle and other comix titles from his six -decade career.
STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS
Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.
In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.
The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.
