ABOUT

A heartbroken mobster itching for vengeance. A no-bullshit waitress with a dark secret and an unpayable debt. Kink clubs, terrible diner coffee, and unbreakable family bonds. When secrets are exposed and lines blur, one question arises: Who’s saving who?

Reeling from a former girlfriend’s deep betrayal that nearly destroyed his family, Sam Marcelli, capo of the Marcelli crime family, buries himself in women, parties, and fights. Unhinged and impulsive, Sam’s pretty sure someone’s going to take him out—it just remains to be seen whether his disappointed family or an enemy gets there first. His only solace is a small diner with his favorite long-time server, Daisy—a salty, fierce, beautiful woman who forces him to eat his veggies while nursing him through hangovers and heartbreak.

After a brutal night, Sam slinks to the diner for terrible coffee and burnt pancakes when a group of men arrive. Assuming the men are there for a hit, Sam’s ready to go down fighting. When Daisy unexpectedly protects him, Sam’s loyalty to her is cemented—and he starts to fall for her, hard. He quickly realizes there’s more to Daisy than a soft mouth and quick wit—she holds a dark secret, one that keeps her indebted to her childhood friend, Andrei, a sociopathic Russian mobster.

Desperate to save Daisy, Sam asks Andrei for a deal. Andrei agrees to forgive Daisy’s debt on two conditions. One, Sam takes out the leading member of a rival family. Two, Sam cannot touch Daisy. The hit will have catastrophic consequences, blowing back on his family and sparking a war. And not touching Daisy becomes nearly impossible as the two grow close. Sam must choose: betray the family he’s loyal to or save the one person who’s saved him.

STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS

Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.

In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.

The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.

  • Similar dimensions to omnibus, but thinner
  • Collect shorter runs or story arcs
  • Usually 300-600 pages
  • Priced between €30-€50

Hardcover (HC)

  • Standard-sized hardcover books
