ABOUT

  • Sherlock Holmes is reborn with a twist. Sherlock Bones has the enigmatic detective reincarnated as a dog! And there's no slowing this hound down once he's on to the scent of a good mystery.
  • Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's iconic super sleuth has seen a strong revival in modern culture with the BBC's Sherlock and CBS' Elementary. Now manga fans can get their fill of deductive reasoning with Sherlock Bones!
  • With a nice balance of playful humor and serious drama, this title will appeal to all ages, especially fans of a good mystery.
  • 13 and up. Series is ongoing in Japan.
  • When Takeru adopts his new pet, he's in for a surprise--the dog is none other than the reincarnation of Sherlock Holmes, the famous detective. What's more, this ""Sherlock Bones"" has decided that Takeru is the reincarnation of his long-time assistant, Dr. Watson. Takeru may think Bones (or he himself) is crazy, but with no one else able to communicate with Sherlock, he's roped into becoming the canine's assistant all the same. In this first volume, Sherlock and Takeru come upon what appears to be a simple traffic accident, but is actually much more. Using his exceptional sleuthing skills, Sherlock uncovers the body of a child hidden in the trunk. A hit and run gone awry, the culprit had been trying to hide the body before he was discovered. Thankfully the child is not dead. This first case sets the tone for the rest of the series; the mysteries are suspenseful, and at first glance quite horrid, but there's always hope with Sherlock on the case.

STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS

Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.

In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.

The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.
