ABOUT
While driving two lovelorn mail-order brides from Denver, Obadiah Gump is attacked by five rifle-wielding Apache braves. Fortunately for the three travelers, John Slocum happens to be passing by, on his way to deliver some horses. After the braves are gone, Slocum learns that the wagoner and his precious cargo are headed for the same town: Deadfall.
When the Apaches return in the night, Slocum is ready for them. Obadiah recognizes one of their attackers—a man who works for Mordecai Wisner, the same man who hired Slocum to transport the horses. And when Obadiah mentions that Wisner’s responsible for a number of graves outside of Deadfall, Slocum knows he better watch his back when he delivers his cargo—and hope he doesn’t join ranks with the dead…
STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS
Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.
In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.
The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.
