ABOUT
Foxes appear in our folktales, our religions, our gardens, and in our news. Like the fox who walked from Norway to Cananda. Incredible! Or the fox who stole all the shoes in a German town. Very strange. They’re part of the canine family but totally act like cats. And in mythology, sometimes they help humans and sometimes they cause some serious trouble.
Sly Foxes nimbly explores the delights and contradictions of these curious canines. With her signature voicey and accessible writing, nonficiton wiz Dana Alison Levy discusses fox species and traits, where foxes live, and how they evolved as well as famous fictional foxes, world folktales, and much more. Interspersed between chapters are "Fox Tails," unbelievable but true stories about foxes around the world. There is still so much we don’t know about these cunning creatures.
Packed with photos, sidebars, and research, Sly Foxes captures the astonishment we feel when bearing witness to these mysterious animals, while also imparting a strong environmental message about protecting foxes and their habitats.
STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS
Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.
In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.
The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.
