As his town’s sheriff, Fran is saddled with plenty of responsibilities, including making long and dangerous journeys across the desert. After one such errand, Fran’s horse suddenly died and he found himself stranded in the middle of the desert with only his legs left as reliable transport. Enduring the scorching heat of the day and blistering cold of the night, Fran tried his best to make it back to his town, wandering for days until his body became too weak to continue on and he fell to the sand. Sure this is the end, Fran closes his eyes and embraces the darkness of death—only to sense a presence over him.
