ABOUT
Orla Liew-Godfrey has it all: weekly facials, Chanel handbags, and a cushy life plan perfectly laid out for her. After graduation, she’ll take a gap-year internship in Singapore and then will go to college and grad school before taking her rightful place in her dad’s company.
It’s her destiny, and it’s what’s expected of her, especially after her brother’s untimely departure from business school to pursue art against her parents’ wishes.
Orla never dreamed of doing anything differently . . . until she learns that Dominic Han, the best friend she’s not-so-secretly in love with, is moving to Paris.
Desperate to have her shot with Dominic, Orla drops everything to take a job as an au pair to follow him across the ocean. She expects to charm her host family, easily find her place in Paris, and make a grand (and reciprocated) gesture of love to Dominic before living happily (and cushily) ever after.
But it turns out striking out on her own is harder than she thought it would be. Orla’s parents immediately cut her off, Dominic appears to be moving on with someone new, and the twins she’s nannying for are actual terrors. To top it all off, Orla’s au pair family has a college-aged son that’s dangerously attractive. . . .
As Orla struggles to navigate her brave new world, she reconnects with her estranged brother, mends broken fences, and realizes that the life laid out for her may not be the life she wants.
STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS
Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.
In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.
The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.
