ABOUT
UP FROM THE CATACOMBS! Dynamite continues to expand its archival library with all-new trade paperback editions showcasing Vampi’s early adventures from the pages of Vampirella Magazine! This fifth volume captures all of the macabre sexiness that the 1970s had to offer, including such eye-widening episodes as “The Undead of the Deep,” “Stairway to Heaven,” “The God of Blood,” and “The Man Whose Soul Was Spoiling!” Showcasing work from a treasure trove of talents like Doug Moench, Jeffrey Jones, Richard Corben, José Gonzalez, Esteban Moroto, Jerry Boudreau, Fernando Fernandez, Adolfo Abellan, and many others, The Vampirella Archives Volume Five trade paperback collects issues #29-35 from the magazine’s original run, topped off by an iconic cover by artist Enrique “Enrich” Torres.
STANDARD, PRIMARY, DM AND VARIANT COVERS
Standard and Primary covers are widely available through general retailers. They often have higher print runs and can be cheaper, especially during sales.
In contrast, Direct Market (DM) and variant covers are primarily sold in comic shops. DM editions tend to have more limited availability and may be more valuable to collectors.
The main differences lie in artwork style, availability, price, and collector appeal. Ultimately, the choice between standard and variant covers depends on personal preference, budget, and individual collecting goals.
