An amateur songwriter lets a has-been country star take credit for her work to revive his career in this heartfelt rom-com from the author of Make Me a Mixtape

Sunny June has two choices: spend yet another birthday as a failed songwriter or let auto-tuned country music pretty-boy Charlie King buy her latest song. But Charlie demands she sign an NDA so he can take the songwriting credit for himself, in the hope of winning back his waning fan base. Desperate for money and even this barest hint of success (even if only she knows it), Sunny agrees to the deal. When the song is an unexpected hit though, Charlie comes knocking again, begging her to join his cross-country tour and write more songs for him. There's just one catch: no one can know. She'll be his pretend girlfriend throughout, cheering him on backstage, sharing his bus, putting on public displays of affection to sell the guise . . .

As the tour goes on, Sunny begins to realize that Charlie isn't the vapid country bro she assumed he was, and by the time they get to Nashville, she isn't so sure she wants their relationship to be fake anymore. And it definitely seems like Charlie feels the same way.

But when the lies they've told start to catch up to them, Sunny is faced with yet another impossible choice: lose the only real chance at a songwriting career she’s worked so hard for or lose the man who has unexpectedly captured her heart.
